The Pala Mesa Resort is southern California's premier golf resort and leisure destination with 133 spacious guestrooms, a premiere wedding site, corporate meeting venues, and exciting dining experiences at the Aqua Terra Restaurant and Bar.
Pala Mesa Resort is located among Avocado and Citrus groves in Fallbrook, CA and features the highly regarded Pala Mesa Resort Golf Course. In fact our unique course design has been rated by Golf Digest as one of the best 200 golf courses in the country. In addition Pala Mesa has been rated one of the top ten golf courses in San Diego County by Golf Digest and Zagat. We are centrally located and just minutes to Temecula's wine country, balloon rides, three major casinos, Wild Animal Park, USMC-Camp Pendleton and the beach.
Pala Mesa, Resort is looking for a proactive and detail oriented GROUP SENIOR SALES MANAGER, with prior experience in the Southern California market. Prior experience in an independent hotel or resort preferable but not essential. Golf resort experience a plus. This position requires strong out-bound prospecting and business development skills. Position is bonus eligible but not guaranteed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following, but not limited to:
* Develop and implement strategic and tactical Sales Plans.
* Solicits group meetings and bookings in the Corporate and SMERF market segments via personal sales calls, phone calls, and correspondence to generate unsolicited sales calls.
* Submits daily sales call reports, booking reports, lost business reports and agenda of sales calls for following week to Director of Sales.
* Golf resort experience a plus
* Minimum (2-4) years experience in hotel sales.
* Specific expertise in key market segments and/or territories preferred.
* Facilitate the production of room nights through professional application of steps in the selling process, so as to
encourage repeat business or develop new accounts.
* Actively solicit and book business following hotel standards.
* Communicate via "VIP Site Inspection Forms" the upcoming site visit by the clients.
* Monitor and handle client issues promptly, ensuring return business.
* Contact clients after scheduled bookings/functions to ensure satisfaction and to solicit re-bookings.
* Attend hotel meetings, etc.
* Group booking pick-up and status of rates and reservations in system, daily.
* Exceeds Budgeted revenue / ADR goals quarterly
* Market segment reports/daily reports, and any other hotel reports to aid in the achievement of sales goals.
* Assist DOS in implementing yearly marketing plan for assigned markets.
* Attends meetings and is involved in communities and clubs for professional organizations such as SGMP and MPI.
* Be knowledgeable and understanding of current customers and accounts, particularly those clients within your market segments or other groups who purchase hotel rooms, currently using other hotels.
* Work with DOS to establish special packages or programs
